Julia L. (Blair) Roy, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021, with her granddaughter, Melanie, by her side. Her husband, Clarence E. Roy, Sr., passed away in 2004. She is survived by three sons, James and Thomas Roy, of Venice, Florida, and William Roy, of Uxbridge, MA. She was predeceased by a son, Clarence E. Roy Jr., in 1973.
In addition, she leaves 8 grandchildren: Mark, Charlie, Amanda, Melanie, Bonnie, Brian, Meagan and Jonathan; and 9 great grand children: Emma, Logan, Abby, Katelyn, Nicholas, Clementine, Jacob, Luke, and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews. Julia is also survived by her brother, Donald Blair, in NC, and by her very close friend Susan, “Hey Susan", (Susienka) Roy, and her sister-in-law Lucille (LuLu) Blair. She was predeceased by her brothers, James, John, Earl, Robert and William Blair, and by her sisters, Frances Joeschke, Marilyn Boyd, Rose Frieswick, and Barbara Smythe.
Mrs. Roy was born in Northbridge, November 08, 1923, a daughter of James W. and Rose (Duquette) Blair, and was a lifelong resident. She attended Northbridge Schools.
A homemaker, Julia was a former member of the Rockdale Congregational Church. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing golf, softball, cross stitching, reading and was a Red Sox fan .
Mrs. Roy's Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 7, in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville, at 11am. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed. There are no Calling Hours.
