Kathleen M. (Mahoney) Michniewicz

Kathleen M. (Mahoney) Michniewicz, 82, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Milford Regional Medical Center, after a period of declining health.  She was the wife of the late Ralph (Brodie) Michniewicz, who died in 1999.

Kay was born September 13, 1940, in Worcester, a daughter of William and Arcelia (Pelletier) Mahoney. She attended St. Peter's School, graduated from Northbridge High School and the former Ward's Business School and earned a master's degree in management from Cambridge College.  She worked in administration for the Draper Company in Hopedale, Jamesbury in Worcester, Tuft's Veterinary School in Grafton, and the Town of Northbridge.  After marriage, she moved to South Grafton and several years later returned to Northbridge to live in the family home. She had been a resident at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab since 2017.

Kay enjoyed traveling with Brodie, cake decorating and filling her home with Christmas trees during the holiday season. She raised goats and loved Polka dancing.  Kay maintained many friendships with her Class of 1959 classmates and helped plan many class reunions.  She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Northbridge where she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister.

Kay leaves her brother, Patrick Mahoney, and his wife Elaine, of Northbridge.  In addition, she leaves 2 nephews: David Mahoney and his sons Jacob and Joshua, and Daniel Mahoney, his wife Sheri and their daughters Virginia and Rachael, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her niece, Jordyn.

Calling Hours are Tuesday, November 29, from 5-7PM.  Kay's Funeral Mass will be at 11AM, on Wednesday, November 30, in St. Peter's Church, Northbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.  Please omit flowers.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ambulance Fund, c/o Northbridge Fire Dept., 193 Main St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
