Kenneth H. Piper, Jr., 88, died on Monday, June 2, 2025, at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Nancy (Gardner) Piper; two daughters, Cathy Deery and her partner Robert Picotte of Douglas, and Karen Lekas and her husband Anthony of Grafton; six grandchildren: Jeffrey Deery, Crystal Malia and her husband Nicholas, Samantha O’Brien, Jonathan Deery and his wife Ashley, Jaxon Johnson and her husband Damon, and Daniel Grant; six great-grandchildren: Faith, Piper, and Lucie O’Brien, Charlotte Deery, Hudson Malia, and Noah Deery; sister Ruth Kroll and her husband Arthur of Woodstock, GA; and many nephews and nieces. Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Kevin Piper, in 2004, and brother, James Piper, in 2007.

 

Born in Worcester, MA on July 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Kenneth, Sr. and Relma (Boutilier) Piper. Ken was a lifelong resident of Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School, Class of 1955. Over the years, he worked for the former Whitin Machine Works, G.E. Telechron, Rexnord, and retired from Saint-Gobain in 2007. Mr. Piper was a longtime member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Whitinsville, where he was a Senior Warden for many years. He had a deep love for his family, cherishing all family gatherings. He enjoyed spending time on his deck, doing yard work, keeping up with the news, watching golf, and he loved a good bowl of ice cream.

 

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 5-7 p.m. in Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St. Whitinsville, MA.Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 33 Linwood Ave. at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery, South Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church 33 Linwood Ave. Whitinsville, MA, 01588.
