Kerry J. Swift

Kerry James Swift, 66 of Ware, MA unexpectedly passed away on March 3, 2022.  He is survived by his wife, Kristine Marie of twenty-one years, his sister Judy Swift Fairfull and her husband Richard Fairfull of Whitinsville, MA, and his youngest sister, Doreen Swift Morningstar of Jacksonville, FL; as well as his niece, Amanda Morningstar and nephews, Luke and Mitchell Morningstar.  He was predeceased by a brother, Robert B. Swift, Jr. and a sister, Barbara Jean Swift.

Kerry Swift was born in Boston, MA, son of the late Robert B. Swift, Sr. and the late Phyllis M. Swift and was affectionately called “Swifty” by his friends.  He graduated from Algonquin Regional High School as an extraordinary math student in 1977, according to his math teacher.  He played varsity hockey in several leagues and qualified for the Junior Bruins team. After high school, he started working with his father in the family business and assumed Property Manager duties.  He was entrepreneurial and active with many not-for-profit businesses.

Kerry struggled with mental illness early in life and then found stability and peace in his caregiving and devotion to his wife, Kristine.  Kerry believed in having a positive, fun-loving attitude and was always ready to make friends and help others.  Every stranger was a friend to Kerry.

There are no calling hours.  After cremation, a grave site service will be held at the Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham, MA in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness, www.nami.org.
