Lillian E. Smith, 92, passed away at home, in Whitinsville, with her family by her side.  Her husband, Walter A. Smith, died in 1991.  She is survived by three daughters; Norma B. McAdams and Kathy M. Contos, of Indianapolis, IN, and Linda D. Davis of Whitinsville, a sister Kathleen McGettigan, of NJ; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Lee White and her sister, Barbara Wright.  

A daughter of John A. and Agnes (Morrow) Wright, Mrs. Smith was born in Wilmington, DE on December 15, 1928.  She lived in North Carolina until moving to Whitinsville in 2007, to be close to her daughter's family.  She enjoyed poetry, singing, playing the piano and yodeling.  

Lillian's wishes were for her to return home to North Carolina and be laid to rest beside her husband at the Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery in Bogue, NC.
