Linda (Bain) Pettengill

Linda (Bain) Pettengill, 81, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at home, after a period of declining health.  She leaves four children: Jeffrey Larivee, of Whitinsville; Frank Pettengill and his wife Jennifer, of Framingham; Robin Johnson and her husband Charles, of Epson, NH; and Holly Robertson and her husband William, of Whitinsville; three grandchildren: Melody McNeff, Christopher Johnson, and Lia Robertson; and two great granddaughters: Ashira McNeff and Andy Johnson.  She was predeceased by her husband Frank Pettengill in 1984 and by her sister Lorilee Morin.

Mrs. Pettengill was born in Holyoke on December 26, 1943, to David and Helen (Getler) Bain.  She was raised in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1962.  After graduating, she moved to Florida where she lived until moving to Whitinsville in 1982 in order to be closer to her sister.  

Linda was a quiet person who enjoyed being at home.  She was an avid reader of romance and mystery romance novels.  When her children were young, she particularly enjoyed playing cards and board games with them and their friends at the house, a pastime she continued to share with her cherished grandchildren when they visited.
