Lisa I. (Meltzer) Santurri, 60, died Saturday, August 6, in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Robert M. Santurri; three sons, Scott Santurri, and his fiance, Stephanie Rezendes, of Whitinsville; Matthew Santurri, and his girlfriend, Julia Laquerre, of Uxbridge; Michael Santurri, of Whitinsville; and her precious granddaughter, Milah. Her family was everything to her.
Lisa was born in Hartford, CT, May 28, 1962, the daughter of Ronald and Lynne (Kramer) Meltzer. She grew up in Longmeadow, MA, and lived in Whitinsville 25 years. A graduate of Longmeadow High School, Lisa earned an Associate's degree from Quinsigamond Community College, and a Bachelor's degree from Emerson College. Her graduate work included a Master's degree from Westfield State University, and Doctoral work at Fitchburg State University.
A lifelong educator, Lisa provided in class support to children with disabilities and special needs at schools in towns throughout the area, including Northbridge, Uxbridge, and Northborough. She worked with children at the Whitin Community Center, and she was a fixture at Quinsigamond Community College for many years.
Lisa loved to dance and take long walks with her husband, Robert. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, painting, drawing, and crafts.
Lisa's Funeral Service will be held privately. Calling Hours will be 5-8pm. Thursday, August 11, in the Carr Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
