Lucy (Mooradian) Kheboian Obituary

Lucy (Mooradian) Kheboian, 99, died peacefully Monday, May 26, 2025, at Advinia Care Northbridge. She leaves two sons, Gary Kheboian and his wife Patti, of Stoneham, and Kenneth Kheboian, of Whitinsville; 3 grandchildren: Maxwell and his wife Samantha of Beverly; Alec and his wife Cailee, of Danvers; and Sophia and her partner Andrew Newman, of Epping, NH; and one great grandchild, her namesake, Lucy.  Lucy is predeceased by her husband Charles Kheboian in 1997, and her siblings Moorad Mooradian and Helen Dagirmanjian.

A daughter of Melkon and Zemroot (Touloumjian) Mooradian, Lucy was born on March 28, 1926, in Providence, RI. She moved with her family to Whitinsville when she was 14 years old.  After graduating from Northbridge High School, she worked several years at the Whitin Machine Works.  While her boys were young, Lucy stayed home to care for the family and returned to work as a key punch operator once they were grown.  She enjoyed working outside of the home and was proud to do so; she retired in 1989.

Lucy's lifelong love of movies and movie history began at the Prospect Theater in Whitinsville.  Not only could she name who starred in any 1930's/1940's movie, she also could name the supporting actors as well.  She was an avid knitter, creating hundreds of afghans over the years that were gifted to her family and friends.  Lucy was also known for her delicious Armenian cooking. She compiled her recipes in her famous "Chicken Cookbook" containing all the favorite family recipes.  She always said if there was ever a fire to grab the cookbook first. It is currently in the safe hands of her family.  She was a member of the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville for more than 60 years.

The center of Lucy's life was her family and her friends.  Whether babysitting her grandchildren, visiting and dancing with her many friends at the annual Armenian Picnic, or socializing at  Advinia Care assisted living, she loved life and wanted to enjoy every day.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Carr Funeral Home preceded by calling hours from 9-11AM.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Activities Fund at Advinia Assisted Living, 85 Beaumont Dr., Northbridge, MA 01534.
