Mathew John William Thompson died Friday, December 20, 2024, at home. He leaves a large family who loved him dearly including his parents Stephen and Kayla (Poillucci) Thompson; 2 brothers, Henry and Carter, and a sister Hailey, all at home; grandparents Nancy and John Thompson, of Uxbridge, and Mary and William Poillucci, of The Villages, FL and great grandmother Pamela Mullins, also of The Villages.  In addition, Mathew was loved by his 2 god fathers; William Poillucci, Jr., and his partner Sarah Ryan, of Malden, and Nicholas Poillucci and his significant other Elena DelloRusso, of The Villages; uncle Alex Thompson and his partner Imari Bratcher, of Haverhill; uncle Mike Mullins, of Hopkinton, and his god mother and aunt Ashley Poillucci and her significant other Matthew Brennan of Upton. 

Mathew loved school; he was a kindergartner at the Northbridge Elementary School. He also participated in Scouting as a Lion in Pack 150 and attended Cornerstone Church in North Uxbridge.  A free spirit, Mathew loved anything that moved or lit up.  He could spend hours sitting at the end of Cove Place watching the cars and trucks drive by; he loved riding elevators and watching the automatic doors open and close at Walmart for as long as his parents would allow.  He was a special and loving boy who particularly loved playing with his brothers and sister and watch football with his mom and dad.  Mathew brought immense joy to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and having him in their life.

Memorial Calling Hours will be on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4-6PM.  Burial will be held privately at the family's convenience.  In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mathew's memory may be made to the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, 112 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748.  The Center provides emotional and physical support for individuals with disabilities and their families.
