Nancy Mae (LaFountain) Burch, age 64, suddenly passed away Sunday September 21, 2025, at home with her loving daughter Cristy (Crissy) by her side. Fighting lung disease and cancer Nancy was taken from her family sooner than excepted. Nancy (Sanford) was married to Thomas Burch on August 1, 2015, and they spent a total of 28 treasured years together. 

Nancy’s husband Thomas S. Burch passed away only four short months ago in their home in Pyrites, NY. After Tom’s death Nancy moved to Whitinsville, MA to live with her daughter Cristy to receive alternative health care near the Boston area. She passed unexpectedly only one week after arriving in MA. 

Born on October 18, 1960, Nancy was the daughter of the late Frank and Marlene (DeLorme) LaFountain. Nancy was raised in Herman, NY and graduated from Herman-DeKalb Central School in Herman, NY. After high school she became a home maker. She married and raised three children. Once her children were grown, Nancy embraced a career as a private Home Health Aide which she enjoyed for many years until she retired in 2017. 

Nancy had a passion for animals and over the years cared for many beloved pets, one of which was her heart dog Harley.  She leaves behind a companion and a friend, Shadow the cat who’s been by her side for 8 years. Nancy was a collector of clothes, shoes and everything fashion and wore it well. She had a love for all the crafty things like DIY projects, knitting, crocheting, cooking, puzzles and making her home feel homey. She enjoyed movies, working in her yard and she had a love for the outdoors. What she loved most though was spending time with her children and grandchildren, welcoming a full house to host any chance she could, with her family. Nancy was as stubborn as the day is long which turned out to be her superpower and on the flip side, she was a soft place to fall, a listening ear, and a confidant when you needed one. 

Nancy is survived by four daughters: Cristy Burch of Whitinsville, MA; Karyn (Burch) and Tommy Broadbent of Canton, NY; April Payne and Danielle Brough of Newton Falls, NY; three stepsons: Thomas Burch and his wife Rhonda of Groveland, MA; Jason Burch of Danvers, MA; and Robbie Werner of Big Sky, MT; 12 Grandchildren: Kade Burch, Alexis Bobay, Eva Jenne and her fiancé Parker Cook, Katelyn Burch, Jackson White, Jason Pagan, Tiena Broadbent, Breanna Adams, Caleb Adams, Nia Brough, Cassandra Cory, Xavier Brough, Kevin Fairbanks Jr., and one great grandson. She also leaves behind her cherished best friend Brandy Countryman of NY. Nancy is predeceased by a beloved brother Frank LaFountain Jr.
