Northbridge--Nancy (Bakker) Faber, passed peacefully Saturday morning, June 8, 2024, at Advinia Care of Northbridge. She leaves her husband of nearly 70 years, Albert Faber; a daughter Jean Gjeltema and her husband Robert, of Northbridge; a son Paul Faber and his wife Trudy, of Grand Rapids, MI; two brothers: Edward Bakker and his wife Sharon, of Whitinsville; Alfred Bakker and his wife Lois, of Florida; a sister Geraldine Kortekamp, of Munson, MA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son Steven, in 2020, her brother Thomas Bakker, and sister Carolyn Simmons.

A daughter of Vassel and Marion (Seagrave) Bakker, Nancy was born February 4, 1935, in Northbridge.  She was a graduate of Northbridge High School and a life-long resident.  She was a talented baker and found joy working in the yard in her flower and vegetable gardens.  She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends in her home.  For many years, she volunteered as a case worker assisting families with the American Red Cross and was also a long-time volunteer with CRWRC Disaster Relief Services, and with the Treasures Thrift Store in Grafton, MA.  A faithful weekly Bible study attendee, she often led study and discussion groups. She always was very active in her church and church life and was a member of the Mendon Community Church.

Calling Hours from 5-7PM, will be Friday, June 14, 2024.  Mrs. Faber’s Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 15, at 11AM, at the Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, Goldthwaite Road, Whitinsville.  Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Providence Road, Northbridge.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School Endowment Fund, 279 Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
