Pamela J. (Fournier) Hoenig Obituary

Pamela J. (Fournier) Hoenig, 82, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, after a period of declining health. She leaves her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Richard Hoenig, a son Marque Hoenig, of Whitinsville; a daughter Tracey Robinson and her husband John, of Walpole; a granddaughter Kenley and grandson Johnny; her sister Sally Albin, of Uxbridge and stepbrother Bernard Black, of Connecticut.  She was predeceased by her brother Larry Fournier.

Born June 17, 1943, in Whitinsville, Pam was a daughter of the late Archie Fournier and Ruth Rich.  She graduated from Uxbridge High School where she played softball and was a majorette and baton twirler in the Uxbridge High School band.  After graduating from Worcester State College, she taught high school mathematics at Medway High School for 36 years, retiring in 2001.  During her tenure at Medway High School, she carpooled for more than 30 years with several other teachers who lived locally, each taking turns driving in to work each day.  The morning of her retirement, her friends surprised her by showing up in a limousine at 6AM for her last ride to work.  A channel 5 news crew went along for the ride featuring Pam and her carpool friends in a human-interest news segment.

Pam enjoyed years of family vacations to Cape Cod, Ogunquit, Lake George, and New Hampshire; really any place that was near a body of water.  She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, was a dedicated Red Sox and Celtics fan, and a daily crossword puzzle enthusiast.  She was a long-time parishioner at Saint Patrick's Church, in Whitinsville.

Calling Hours, at Carr Funeral Home, will be 4-6PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2026.  Pam's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Saint Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville.  Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Providence Road, Whitinsville.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
