Paul E. Monast, 85, died at home, surrounded by his loving family, December 29. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Martin) Monast; a daughter, Linda Sharon, with whom he lived; a grandson, George Sharon, and his wife, Jennifer; a granddaughter, Amy Murray, and her husband, Christopher; a brother, Richard Monast, of California City, CA, and four great grandchildren, Jessica, Allyson, and Abbey Sharon, and Katie Murray. He was predeceased by great grandsons Eric and Michael Murray, and his brother, Arthur Monast.
Paul was born in Worcester, October 7, 1935, a son of Emil and Mary (Pellerin) Monast where he lived until moving to Whitinsville in 1992. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Paul worked at the George F. Blake Company for many years, and also was employed at Wyman Gordon and Doug Russell Marina. He also spent 20 years working for the Town of Northbridge, retiring in 2020.
He enjoyed Sunday drives with Patricia, working in his yard, woodworking, and meeting with friends for coffee at Dunkin Donuts.
Paul's funeral will be a graveside service in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, at 11am, Tuesday, January 5, preceded by Calling Hours in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville from 9:00 to 10:30am. Due to current social gathering restrictions, only 10 people will be allowed inside the funeral home at one time to pay their respects. Face coverings are required.
