Paul E. Wheeler passed peacefully Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab, where he had resided for the past 4 years. He leaves his devoted wife of more than 50 years, Beverly (Bidwell) Wheeler; a son Daniel and his wife Shannon, of Douglas, and a daughter, Christine Beauchaine and her husband Jeff, of Whitinsville, and four grandsons; Ben and Alex Wheeler and Zachary and Nathaniel Beauchaine. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Wheeler, earlier this year, and a grand daughter, Danielle Beauchaine, in 2008.
A son of Paul S. and Mildred (Lundberg) Wheeler, he was born May 5, 1939 in Newport, RI. His family moved to Whitinsville when Paul was 10 years old. The family lived briefly in Worcester before returning to Whitinsville where Paul graduated from Northbridge High School in 1958. He continued to take courses at Fisher Jr. College and Worcester Jr. College.
Paul had a varied career. He worked 30 years as an engineer at the David Gesner Company in Worcester, worked briefly at Spag's, in Shrewsbury, and ultimately retired in 2012 from Process Technology in Ashland, where he worked in customer service for 11 years. Other jobs included working at the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas in Worcester and in paste-up at the Blackstone Valley Tribune.
Paul enjoyed watching movies and the art of movie making. Artistically talented, he enjoyed drawing and was an avid reader.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held Friday, October 22, at 6PM, in the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church, where Paul was a long time member. A period of visitation, also in the church, will be held from 4-6PM, prior to Paul's Celebration of Life. Burial will be private.
