Rita Wallen Obituary

Rita L. (Green) Wallen, died peacefully, with her husband by her side, at home Sunday, November 20, 2022, after a fierce battle with cancer.  She leaves her devoted husband of 41 years, Scott Wallen and two sons, David Wallen and his wife Ashley, and Paul Wallen and his fiancé Lauren Aldrich, and two grandchildren, Cole and Isabel.  In addition, she leaves her sister Kathryn Lamoreaux and her husband Al, of Whitinsville; five brothers: Joseph Green and his wife Donna, of Madison, AL; her twin brother, Richard Green and his wife Joy, of Whitinsville; Gerald Green, of Whitinsville; Marty Green and his wife Maura Mahoney, of Northbridge; and Paul Green and his wife Catherine, of Whitinsville; her brother-in-law Craig Wallen, of Philadelphia and Aunt Boonie and Uncle Don Morneault, of Londonderry, NH; four god children: Daniel Lamoreaux, Fiona Packham, Nathan Green and Madeline Green; her cousins Pauline and Fred Baxter, of England and many nieces, nephews and cousins both in the United States and England. She also leaves her dear friend, Julie Stolte, of North Carolina.  She was predeceased by a brother, James Green.

Rita was born March 22, 1960, in Winchester, MA to the late Joseph and Joan (Piper) Green.  She grew up in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School and Providence College.  After college, she worked in advertising before starting her real estate appraisal company, David Paul Appraisals.  Rita also worked as an interior designer for Koopman Lumber, as the assistant Assessor for the town of Northbridge and as a paraprofessional in the Northbridge school system.  For more than 20 years, she worked as a realtor with her brother. She was a member of the Soorp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Apostolic Church, in Whitinsville.

For Rita, family was always first; her favorite job was being Mimi.  She had a passion for cooking and entertaining family and friends and enjoyed traveling to England to visit family.  Rita touched many lives and always saw the good in everyone.  She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Zweizig for her compassion and care.

Rita's Funeral will be Wednesday, November 23, at 11AM at Saint Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Linwood Ave., Whitinsville.  There are no Calling Hours.
