Robert E. Alexander, 90, died Saturday, October 8, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center. His wife, Jackie (Gilliland) Alexander, died in 2012. He is survived by his son, Craig S. Alexander, of Whitinsville; two daughters, Linda Kent, and her husband, Allen, of Dudley, and Brenda Blais, and her husband, Bert, of Douglas; eight grandchildren: Tracey Anderson, Brian Alexander, Dawn Perks, Jason Kent, Jessica Klotz, Dustin Alexander, Christina Alexander and Victoria Alexander; and 12 great grandchildren:  Zachary, Lauren, Alaina, Cali, Payton, Marcus, Taylor, Jarrod, Jason, Ryen, Jake and Jackson. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Alexander, in 1993, his great granddaughter Kiara, and seven brothers and sisters.

Mr. Alexander was born June 24, 1932, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the son of William and Elizabeth (Cordes) Alexander. He moved from Missouri to Milford, MA in 1963 and lived in Georgia and New Hampshire before coming to Whitinsville more than 30 years ago. He was a pattern maker and designer in the shoe manufacturing industry, working more than 50 years before retiring.

A fun-loving man, Mr. Alexander was the patriarch of his family and enjoyed the times spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his many relatives in Missouri.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 22, in the Carr Funeral Home, at 1:30PM.  There will be a period of visitation from 12-1:30 prior to the Memorial Service.
