Robert F. Gonynor, Jr. (The Silver Fox), died Thursday Apr 25, 2024, after a period of declining health. He passed in Port Charlotte, FL with his longtime girlfriend Patricia Carr. He leaves behind a daughter Amy Leggett of Milton, WV; three sons; Matthew Gonynor of Whitinsville, Seth Gonynor and his wife Julie of Whitinsville, and Robert M. Gonynor of Auburn; two brothers; Donald Gonynor and his wife Leah of Wells, ME, Stephen Gonynor and his wife Nancy of Douglas; four sisters; Rebecca Peters and her husband Peter of West Palm, FL, Veronica Lachapelle and her husband Robert of Wickford, RI, Lori Gniadek and her husband Jeff of Douglas, and Elizabeth Lachapelle and her husband Paul of Whitinsville; five grandchildren; Justin Leggett, Hayley Leggett, Tyler Gonynor, Nicholas Gonynor, and Jordan Gonynor; 2 great grandchildren; Chandler and Dean Leggett; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by two sisters; Robin Parkinson and Rose Murray; and a brother-in-law Donald Murray. He was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Duggan) Gonynor, Sr. 

Bob was born in Whitinsville October 16, 1951. He graduated in 1969 from the culinary arts program at the former Fanning Trade High School in Worcester.  Later, he attended machine school at night at Boys Trade. He worked for several years as a machinist, and later a foreman, at Jamesbury, in Worcester.  Following that, he painted houses before establishing R. Gonynor & Sons, Inc., in 1981. He was a Grafton firefighter for 10 years while living in Grafton.  

In the mornings you could often find Bob enjoying a cup of coffee while reading the newspaper. Bob enjoyed hunting and spending summers in Maine. He had a passion for playing with fireworks and soaking up the warm weather in Florida. He loved chatting and could talk forever, to anyone, and often would. He enjoyed sharing stories from his past with his children and grandchildren which were mostly unbelievable, yet very true. While on vacation he enjoyed finding obscure roads and turning down them with no direction in mind to explore and enjoy the scenery. Cooking remained a passion for Bob throughout his life and he enjoyed having his children and grandchildren over to make them dinner. Cool Bobby G will be missed by all his family and friends.
