Shayleen M. Pastick

Shayleen M. Pastick died Friday, May 27th, 2022.  She was 46.  She is survived by her beloved son, Johnny R. Thompson Pastick, of Brookline; her mother Christine M. (Jenco) Pastick, of Milford, CT; a brother Lucas Pastick and his wife Anna Ryzak Pastick, of Glastonbury, CT; her former wife, Juliana Sales Thompson, of Brookline; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Shayleen was predeceased by her father, Steve J. Pastick, in March 2020.
Born February 19, 1976, in Bridgeport, CT, Shayleen grew up in Milford, CT and graduated from Joseph A. Foran High School, where she was an accomplished student serving as class treasurer and was a member of the National Honor Society, in addition to playing basketball, softball and volleyball.  She continued her education at Northeastern University, earning a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and graduating Cum Laude.
After college, Shay remained in the Boston area where she enjoyed performing as a bassist and lead singer with a number of rock bands, most recently "Courtney Hate"; she was a talented musician, singer-songwriter, and often described as "the life of the party".
Shayleen enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors.  She had a love for helping others and animals.  She was involved with dog rescue her entire life.  Above all else, she was a wonderful mother and loved Johnny very much; spending time with her family was her greatest joy.  She will be greatly missed.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for her family at a time and date to be announced.  In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Shayleen's memory may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Rd., Sudbury, MA 01776. Shay always celebrated life to the fullest and we will celebrate her memory forever.
