Shirley M. (Normandin) Morrow

Shirley M. (Normandin) Morrow, died Friday, September 1, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family.  Shirley leaves her devoted husband of 63 years, David J. Morrow; two sons: David R. Morrow and his wife Sharon, of Whitinsville; Mark S. Morrow and his wife Katie, of Framingham; a daughter Debra Morrow McLean, of Natick; and five grandchildren: David and Matthew Morrow, James McLean, and Samuel and Gabrielle Morrow.  She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Normandin.

Born in Grafton, November 9, 1938, Shirley was the daughter of Raoul and Mildred (Burbank) Normandin.  She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School and the St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation from nursing school, Shirley began her long career in nursing at the former Worcester City Hospital, retiring in 2004.  In 1963, Shirley and her husband moved to Northbridge, where they raised their family and remained in the area until moving to Framingham in 2022.

Shirley and David met during high school.  They enjoyed roller skating when they were younger and music dancing throughout their life together.  After turning 50, she discovered that she enjoyed skiing and after retiring she took up golf enjoying the game with Dave as members of the Bayberry Golf Club in Yarmouth.   Shirley and David enjoyed many summers at their Cape home in West Yarmouth where she always loved the beach, especially when her grandchildren visited.  Upon retirement they spent winters in Venice, Florida, then in Myrtle Beach to be close to lifelong childhood friends. 

Honoring Shirley's wishes, services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA, 50037-0839.
