Born in Worcester, August 1, 1958, he was a 1976 graduate of Holy Name High School. Steve worked many years at Worcester Scale Company, before taking ownership of Varky's Cleaners in Whitinsville, in 2005. He retired in October 2021. Steve was a supportive father and spent many years as a coach in Northbridge Youth Baseball, coaching his sons' teams from t-ball through Little League, then transitioned to letting his sons compete with him on the golf course. For many years he participated in 10-pin bowling leagues and scored six 300 games. Steve was a long time member of the Whitinsville Golf Club. He enjoyed golf with the Hawk guys and local card games and a quick trip to the Casino every now and then. His weeks were also highlighted by the Friday night dinners with their good friends Kath and Al, and watching the Pats with the football crew. They all provided friendship and support to both Steve and Sue, for which they were so grateful.
Steve's family would like to thank Dr. John Lawrence and the Oncology Team at UMASS for their care during his illness.
