Stewart E. Cleary

Stewart E. Cleary, 79, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at home. He is survived by a sister, Joyce Cleary, of Waterbury, CT; and two brothers: Douglas M. Cleary, with whom he lived; and Wendell B. Cleary and his wife Aimee, of Northbridge; two nephews Andrew and Nicholas, and a niece, Sarah.  

A son of Earle and Grace (Bryanton) Cleary, Stewart was born November 29, 1944, in Montreal, Canada.  His family moved to Northbridge when he was an infant.  Stewart spoke often of the time he spent working at the Draper Corporation before he went to work for Smith Valve. He also worked many years as an attendant at the former Westboro State Hospital.   Before retiring, he was a livery driver for Mark's Transportation, in Milford.  

Stewart enjoyed tending to his yard and tinkering with tractors.  He was known to always drive a Chrysler, owning many over the years.  He was a former member of the North Uxbridge Baptist Church and currently a member of the Union Congregational Church in South Grafton.

Calling Hours from 5-7PM are Monday, October 21, 2024.  Stewart's Funeral will be at 10AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Union Congregational Church, 86 Main St., South Grafton.  Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Union Congregational Church, 86 Main St., South Grafton, MA 01560.
