V. James ("Jim") Pomposelli

Upton--V. James "Jim" Pomposelli, 78,  formerly of Whitinsville, died Wednesday, December 14 after a brief illness.   He leaves his wife and soul mate, Sue (Blanchard) Pomposelli and their children, Jim Pomposelli, of Chicago; Mike Pomposelli and his wife Molly, of Needham; Cathy Poirier and her husband Scott, of Upton and 7 grandchildren; Andrew, Tyler, Ryan, Jack, and Celia Pomposelli and Robert and Mary Poirier.  He was predeceased by his brother, Fedrico Pomposelli.

A son of Mario and Frances (Frabotta) Pomposelli, Jim was born September 24, 1938 in Northbridge.  He grew up in Uxbridge and graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1957.  Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for numerous local companies, retiring 16 years ago from Modern Continental.  He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4 since 1968.

Jim was always busy and known to fix anything.  He was a hard worker and will be remembered as a gentle giant who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Jim's Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 7, at 11:00AM, at Saint Mary's Church, Uxbridge.  Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery.  There are no Calling Hours.
