Xiaolan Ou, 89, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on December 28, at Care One in Millbury. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Zhaolin Chen; two daughters, Meng Chen and her husband Sean Lu of Westwood, MA, and Yan Chen and her husband Xiaolei Gu of Northbridge, and three granddaughters: Connie, Danielle and Sophia. 

Born in Guangdong, China on October 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Chengkui Ou and Zhen Li. Xiaolan came to the United States in 1989, where she resided in Salt Lake City, Utah  before moving to Sudbury and then Boston. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1999 and worked as a researcher, studying plant cells. Mrs. Ou played college basketball in China and always enjoyed  exercise. Her family was the center of her life, being with her children and grandchildren brought her so much joy. 

Xiaolan's funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family, Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
