January 30, 1928 ~ February 5, 2013 (age 85) 85 Years OldLorraine (Departie) Skillen, 85, of Northbridge, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2013 after a brief illness in Beaumont Nursing Home.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Philip who died in 2008. She is survived by her loving son William and his wife Linda, along with her two dedicated granddaughters Jennifer and her husband Damian Megna and Jaime and her husband Matthew Gauthier, her three cherished great-grandchildren Julia, Cameron and Kenny, her sister-in-law Beth and her husband Al Hendrickson. Lorraine also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Beatrice, Laura, Harvey, and Dorothy.
Lorraine was born in Uxbridge Massachusetts on January 30, 1928, daughter of the late Guillaume and Leona (Guertin) Departie. Lorraine worked for many years at the former Irene’s Children’s Shop. She enjoyed many years of bowling in the Woman’s League. Lorraine and Philip enjoyed playing cards, darts, and special vacations and Friday night dinners with Beth and Al. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters and more recently with her great-grandchildren. She loved the time she spent with her family and never missed any functions for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Her presence will be sadly missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 10, from2 to 4 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home 24 Hill St. Whitinsville MA, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday, February 11 at 11:00a.m.
