Alfred Joseph Emond
September 10, 1925 ~ April 19, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years OldUxbridge--Alfred Joseph Emond, 91, died Wednesday, April 19 in the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He leaves his wife of 72 years, Dorothy (Bailey) Emond and two sons; Bruce A. Emond and Kenneth B Emond, all of Uxbridge; two grandsons Thomas and David; he was predeceased by a son, Alfred D. Emond in 1978.
Mr. Emond was born September 10, 1925 in New Market, N.H., a son of Adamia and Exzilda Emond. As a young man, he moved from New Hampshire to Connecticut, and graduated from Putnam High School. He was a US Army veteran. He worked as a machinist at the Whitin Machine Works and a house painter. Although he retired in 1991, he continued to paint houses. A long time resident of Uxbridge, Mr. Emond coach baseball and Little League for many years. He and his wife enjoyed going dancing with their friends.
Memorial Calling hours are Friday, April 28, 6-7:30PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 8:00 in the Carr Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Milford Dana Farber Cancer Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.
